My Skincare Routine- Moisturizers

Hi Everyone!

This is part two of my skincare routine. In this post, I will discuss all my favourite moisturizers and let you know why I love each one! I have dry skin all winter long and if it’s not properly cared for, my skin begins to flake, I also have very sensitive skin and I have acne prone skin. So it’s important to me for a moisturizer to be hydrating yet gentle on my skin.

Here are a few of my favourite moisturizers:

Innisfree Intensive Hydrating Serum with Green Tea Seed:231170108-intensive-hydrating-serum-with-green-tea-seed-450x450.jpg

This moisturizer is light weight, it has a consistency closer water rather than oil. If your pores get clogged easily by oils and cause breakouts, this is a great moisturizer for you. I use this in the summer where I have an oily T zone and dry cheeks and it keeps both areas healthy. It’s one of my favourite moisturizers. I do use it in the winter but during the winter I need to use more than 1 moisturizer in my routine. The Intensive Hydrating Serum with Green Tea seed is made with Jeju Green Tea extract and Green Tea Seed Oil. Green tea seed oil is great for dehydrated skin! The Jeju Green Tea extract and Green Tea Seed Oil work together to restore your skin to its optimal moisture level and aid your skin in retaining moisture. This formula is packed with amino acids and minerals to nourish your skin. Green tea is also high in antioxidants which reduce inflammation. If you have sensitive acne prone skin this will 100% sooth it. I have been using this moisturizing daily for 6 months now and during this time I did not have a single red aching pus filled pimple. I did have break outs but they were barely visible and didn’t hurt or bother me at all.

Neogen Pore Refreshing Face Serum:psx_20181107_110111-01.jpeg

If are concerned about pores, you need this serum in your skincare routine. Neogen’s Pore Refreshing face serum tightens the look of pores while moisturizing your skin. It is made with 9 marine and botanical extracts (types of seaweeds and algae). Algae extract is nourishing and very hydrating. Very few moisturizers use Algae, which is why I use this one several times a week so I can enjoy the skincare benefits from algae and seaweed ( they are extremely hydrating which is something very important to me since I suffer with dry skin). After a month of use I noticed visibly smaller pores and firmer, more hydrated skin. This is the first moisturizer I recommend to anyone who struggles with the appearance of large pores. If you want more information on how this works specifically to reduce the appearance of pores, check out my older post Pores Away ! The Floral Hydro Cream:PSX_20180411_152058

I fell in love with the Mamonde Floral Hydro Cream the first time I tried it at Mamond’s pop up in Manhattan. It’s hydrating but light weight. With the Floral Hydro cream, my skin breathes freely and I have less break outs. You have to feel it to believe it! If you have severely dry skin, this is one of the most hydrating moisturizers you will find. The Narcissus flower is able to retain water and pass it from one flower head to the other. This cream not only moisturizes your skin, it locks in moisture for hydration all day long. This perfect for anyone who struggles with dry skin that begins to flake under their make up. You can get this moisturizer here!

Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex ll1648026_fpx.jpg

This serum is amazing for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. I first tried it when I received a deluxe sample with my Macys order and I was immediately hooked. Before the sample was finished I noticed significant reduction in the appearance of fine lines on my forehead. I have tried may anti aging products trying to get rid of wrinkles on my forehead and nothing else provided noticeable results!

While is it also hydrating, it is not super hydrating so if you have really dry skin, make sure you apply your moisturizer after the serum!

Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster:2953870_fpx.jpg

Think of this as your skincare primer. You want apply this before all other serums and moisturizers. It is made with Botanical Glassworth Extract which prevents water loss in the surface of the skin, Sea Fennel and Flaxseed Extracts which helps reinforces your skin’s moisture barrier and Probiotics Complex to optimizes skin’s microflora (which helps strengthen its natural defenses).cropped-img_20170428_152538_460

Since I started using the Superstart skin renewal, I have noticed that my skin becomes irritated less frequently!

These are my favourite moisturizers, I will do a third part to this post and discuss my favorite face masks. I discovered face masks approximately 3 years ago and my face is forever grateful for this discovery!

What’s your favorite moisturizer? Apart from moisturizing your skin, what other skincare concern do you need your daily moisturizer to address?

Stay beautiful!

    1. For acne, Noxema Anti blemish pads are amazing and they are really cheap. They also tend to dry out your skin which could help with your oily skin

  8. These all sound so great! Until fairly recently, I was only washing my face, using an exfoliator a couple times a week, and a mask once in a while. Moisturizer too because of my dry skin.

I have been trying to add in serums and toners. I have been looking for good skin care that is also affordable. These all sound so great! I’m going to check them out!

My favorite moisturizer is Garnier Moisture Bomb. My skin is so dehydrated and this is the first moisturizer that really makes my face feel really moisturized but not overly done.

  11. I really need to start using moisturizer, I feel I only use it sporadically because of my oily acne prone skin, but everything I read says moisturizing is key!
