November is here, I feel like 2018 just started. What in the world? Despite having done so much this year, I feel like my 2018 goals are no where near achieved. So I better get on that. I’ll keep you all updated on how that goes but today we’re going to talk about pores.
Before becoming a beauty blogger I didn’t really care about pores or minimizing them. It was impossible for me to grasp why someone would want to shrink their pores. Our bodies have 2 types of pores, hair follicles which lubricate the skin with natural oils and sweat pores which serve a ducts for the sweat glands and are important for cooling down our bodies. They seem so important to me that I didn’t understand why someone would want to shrink them and risk interfering with their natural functions.
I have recently received several DMs from followers which helped me understand why pores can be so pesky. Those who are bothered by their large pores are concerned with the the appearance and the excess oil which causes their foundation to break up, etc. Because the pores are so important to the skin, you should be careful what products you use to treat them.
Avoid harsh exfoilants. Blocked pores can cause acne and black head but over exfoiliating can dry out your skin or damage your pores. I personally cannot use most exfoiliators. My skin dry out to the extent that it begins to peel/flake. You especially want to avoid exfoiliators with beads as these can damage your skin. For a deep cleanse, I use Neogen Pore Mousse . The Pore Tight Peeling Mouse is made with alginic acid and oligogeline ingredients that penetrate deep to clean out dirt, excess oils and make up residue from your pores.
Some of you may have seen me use it on my instagram live and witnessed how much gunk it removed. I find the Pore Tight Peeling Mousse to be more effective at cleaning my nose tips when compared to charcoal masks and nose strips.
Neogen Pore Tight Mousse is also formulated with ingredients derived from purple sea urchins which helps tighten your sagging skin for a smoother firmer looking face!
Restore and replenish: Neogen Pore Tight Refreshing Serum is a great step 2, to follow up after a deep cleanse. If large pores are your concern, this is the face serum you would like to use. I’m not a huge face of the consistency of most face serums and oils, I prefer the feel of creams.
The Pore tight refreshing serum is more like a cream, than an oil, and it smells great. It is light weight and breathable yet very hydrating. Not only does it hydrate your skin, it tightens your skin leaving it supple.
It’s made with 9 marine and botanical extracts, including:
-hizikia fusiforme (brown sea vegetable) extract,
-undaria pinnatifida extract,
-gelidium cartilagineum (red algae) extract,
-sargassum fulvellum (seaweed) extract,
-capsosiphon fulvescens (green algae) extract,
-enteromorpha compressa extract,
-porphyra tenera (red algae phylum) extract,
-laminaria japonica (brown algae) extract and
-gardenia florida fruit extract
Notice the number of times seaweed and Algae are listed. Algae is abundant in nutrients and minerals that extract toxins. But they are also high is antioxidants which are great to firm your skin. Antioxidants inhibit free radical production which helps protect skin cells from damage.
A few of you already tried these after I recommended them to you in our private chats and I’m happy that they worked for you. If you try these please share your experience with me in the comments below.
What do you use for your pores?
Have a good week,
