My Lancome VoxBox

Hi there!

Today we are going to talk about one of my favorite brand, Lancome!

More specifically, I’m going to tell you about me recent experience with their Visionnaire Crescendo Peel, Bienfait SPF & Matte Shaker Lipstick! It seems like a weird combination of items to create a blog post about but I receive these products complimentary for testing from Lancome through Influenster. Influenster is a program that gives out voxboxes containing products from various which you are supposed to review. It’s a platform used by brands to get their products trending on social media and reviewed by some influential bloggers!

Lancome Visionnaire Crescendo Peel:

The Visionnaire Crescendo Peel is a two phase 28 day routine designed to address skincare concerns such as: uneven skin, texture, appearance of pores, wrinkles & fine lines and dark spots. It is divided into two phases, with two different formulas each lasting 14 days!
The formula for the first phase contains 5% bio-acids (fruit acids and quinoa husk extract). This formula helps to reduce the appearance of pores, and improve the skin’s texture and radiance! The first night I tried this m face burned, even after applying moisturizer it still burned. Why? Well it’s highly acidic and not recommended for sensitive skin. In fact the bottle says not for sensitive skin types. Guess who has sensitive skin? Yes, I do.
So not waiting to waste a $75 product that is designed to target many of my skin care concerns, I changed my use of the product. I avoided my very sensitive cheeks and used a more targeted approach. I only applied it on problem spots and I used a lot of moisturizer during the day to sooth my skin between treatments. The second night it burned a bit, not to bad; it soothed after 10 minutes and everything went well after that. My skin developed tolerance after the first two applications and then there was only a negligible tingling sensation for the other applications.  After 2-3 days I noticed brighter and  smoother skin. I was glowing and I loved it!
Phase formula for phase two contains 10% derma acids (0.5% salicylic acid and 9.5% pure glycolic acid), and is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. You may be tempted to only use phase two if these are your only skincare concern, do not. The acidity it twice as strong. Phase one prepares your face to handle phase two. My first time applying phase two on my problem areas, it burned. Again the burning lasted two days and with each application my skin adapted to the acidity of the formula. There has been significant improvement with my wrinkles. They at least 50% visible!
The 28 day regiment is not a miracle formula. It is not going to wipe away years of damage within 28 days. The good news is, you can repeat the 28 day regimen for continued improvement. The bottle comes with way more formula than you would use in 1 routine. I applied the formula generously (literally several lays) on my problem areas and have enough formula left over 1+ 28 day period.

Lancome Bienfair UV SPF 50+
My biggest problem with sunscreen is that they tend to be oily. In the summer your face us usually a bit oily from all the sweating and the extra oil from sunscreens can make you break out a bit. This formula is oil free and fast absorbing. What doing that mean? It means your face won’t be oily and shinning and the best part you don’t have to wait a long while before applying your make-up over it! Hear that? It’s the make up lover in you screen hooray! Because let’s be honest, there’s so much to enjoy over there summer that spending time waiting on your sunscreen to set is not something that you really want to do.

Lancome Matte Shaker Lipstick
This is a very fun lippie. It makes a sound when you shake it and sometimes I fine it entertaining. Okay back to reviewing. Firstly, this is a super moist lipstick. I usually don’t like Matte lipsticks because my lips are often dry and they make it look even more dry. This lippie has a unique cushion sponge applicator which keeps it from going on too thick and heavy. It goes on light so your lips are not smothered. But do not fear, this formula is very pigmented so a light layer does not compromise the intense color! And you can even layer it up for a more bold look. And if all of those reasons were not convincing enough, it’s formulated with Vitamin E which makes you feel like you’re making a healthy lipstick choice!
